Leafy sea dragon color reference
Phycodurus eques
The leafy sea dragon lives only in the cool coastal waters of southern Australia, where it drifts among kelp and seagrass. Its body is covered in leaf-shaped lobes that work as camouflage, so it looks like a piece of floating seaweed. As with seahorses, the male carries the eggs until they hatch.
Colors to reach for
Use golden yellow and orange-brown for the body, olive green for the leafy lobes, and small touches of white for the spots and fine lines.
- golden yellow
