Are the drawings printed on one side only?
Yes. Every drawing in Quiet Ocean and Quiet Winter is printed on one side of the page, and the back is left blank. No drawing is ever printed behind the one you are coloring, and any page can be cut out without losing another.
Will a finished page fit a frame?
Yes. Cut along the dotted line at the spine and trim to the four corner marks. You are left with a 7 x 9 inch print that fits a standard 8 x 10 inch frame.
What is the light gray shading under each drawing?
It is a shading guide: a soft gray print of where the light and shadow fall on the subject. It helps you place darker and lighter colors before you start. Under darker colors it disappears; under the palest colors it reads as gentle shading.
Which pencils and pens work best?
Colored pencils, gel pens and fineliners work well. Alcohol markers can soak through book paper, so slip a spare sheet behind the page if you use them. The back of every drawing is blank, so no drawing is printed behind another.

An advent mystery puzzle book for adults. There are 24 nights, each with one logic puzzle: map puzzles, word ladders, logic grids, sum grids and picture puzzles. Each answer completes a clue, and you cross out the suspects it rules out from a register of 2,412 names. By Christmas Eve, one is left.
Can I start Nobody Leaves the Ice after December 1?
Yes. Each night carries its December date, but nothing breaks if you start late: catch up by doing more than one night in a sitting. It works just as well as a January mystery.
