Every drawing is printed on one side of the sheet only. The back stays blank, so no drawing is ever printed behind the one you are coloring.

Each subject sits alone on the page with room around it, and each one was chosen for its color: northern cardinal, red fox, blue jay, poinsettia, Siberian tiger, red panda and thirty-nine more.

A light gray shading guide sits under every drawing. It shows where the light and the shadow fall before you pick up a pen. Under darker colors it disappears, and under the palest it reads as soft shading.

Is Quiet Winter a cozy coloring book?

Yes, with more detail than most. Cozy is the feeling of the subjects: a log cabin in the snow, a stone fireplace, a frosted lantern, a snow globe, a wreath, a hedgehog and a red panda. The drawings are realistic rather than bold and simple, with a light gray shading guide under each one.

Which birds are in Quiet Winter?

Is Quiet Winter single-sided?

Yes. Every drawing is printed on one side of the page and the back is blank.

Yes. A finished page trims to 7 x 9 inches along the cut line and fits a standard 8 x 10 frame.
