Tide pool color reference
Tide pools are pockets of seawater left among rocks when the tide goes out. The animals that live there, such as anemones, sea stars, snails and crabs, cope with changing temperature and saltiness every day. Many rocky coasts, South Africa's included, have rich tide pools.
