The birds in Quiet Winter
Each bird has a free color reference with its real colors and the pencils to start with: the northern cardinal, snowy owl, blue jay, black-capped chickadee, Atlantic puffin and emperor penguin and chick.
Quiet Wings: a realistic bird coloring book
The next Nibfern book is 45 birds, one to a page: backyard birds such as the cardinal, goldfinch, bluebird, robin and hummingbird; owls, eagles and penguins; exotic birds such as the scarlet macaw, peacock, flamingo, toucan and quetzal; and the birds people keep, from budgies and cockatiels to roosters and silkie hens. Like every Nibfern book, each drawing is printed on one side, with a gray shading guide and a cut line for an 8 x 10 frame.
A framed bird as a gift
Color the bird they love most, the cardinal at their window or the owl they once heard at night, cut the page out and frame it. A cardinal is also a gentle way to remember someone at a first Christmas without them. How to color, frame and give a page.
